When hard things stack up on you….

Ever feel the weight of being at rock bottom? Lately, my life seems to be full of those type of issues and has left me physically and mentally flat. And with good reason……I’ve let them. I own it, but to be honest it has taken me months to recognize that my mindset during this period, has been a mess.

Today…the day before my (THR) total hip replacement, I landed at rock bottom. I was in tough shape and while looking for some help….YouTube came to my aid with “A Hypnotic Journey for Pre-Surgery” video that took my need to chill to a glacial level…. A few minutes into this meditation session I was fast asleep in my recliner, drooling like a dental patient with a mouth full of Novocaine and cotton. Subliminally though, it felt like I’d been parked at a Tesla charging station. I awoke renewed, recharged and refocused… The video promotes the following:

the mind is one of the most powerful tools available for healing, more powerful than any medication available. As you drift off to a deep, uninterrupted sleep, your mind fills with profoundly healing thoughts and positive affirmations to encourage amazing health and vitality. The design of the video is to help balance the energy in your body and to overcome emotional and even physical issues by setting off a healing response”.

I can’t tell you if this will help anyone else… my wife listens to these type podcasts to fall asleep at night, so she is up for trying this series out. The point is, I feel a drastic change in my perspective towards the surgery I’m facing in the morning. I’m looking forward to being done with the pain and limitations of Osteoarthritis (OA) which is a degenerative joint disease that occurs when the cartilage that cushions the ends of bones gradually breaks down. I’ve stopped feeling that this old body has let me down and am excited to return to an athletically active lifestyle. If you find yourself at rock bottom, try a self guided self hypnosis journey.

My positive affirmation focus tomorrow is:
“Rock bottom will teach you more about yourself than you will ever learn at the mountain top”
